Last summer I finally took the leap and offered beginner photography classes. To say I was nervous is an understatement! I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn how to use their cameras, but to put myself out there as a “teacher” was vulnerable and left me feeling very anxious. After my first class, I was hooked! I had a few requests on Facebook to offer a class that was a step above a beginner, so I started mentally preparing a Technique class, a class that would go through my personal technique in prepartion for a session, all the way to the final delivery of the session. There are so many ways to get from point A to point B, and my way isn’t necessarily the “right” way. But I was so honored that the ladies that came to the class wanted to learn from me. =)
The Edwards family was sweet enough to be our models for the session. They were patient while we worked on settings, white balance, and talked about posing. Thankfully it was a beautiful day! I photographed the family first, and then the ladies would take turns shooting. We encouraged each other, laughed, and learned while we walked my property looking for the best places to shoot.
Thank you so much Edwards family! I hope you enjoyed being models as much as we enjoyed photographing you!
And this was the clear favorite of all of the ladies at the class!
