Last spring I got on a phone call from Russell, who I had known for several years. We never talked on the phone before, so I knew he had something up his sleeve if he was calling me out of the blue. He told me he wanted to propose to Dallas (yay!) his long time girlfriend. But, he wanted to make sure I had some fall dates open for their wedding because as he put it, “She won’t have anyone else photograph her wedding but you.” Eeeeekkk!!! I was SO excited! I told him I had a couple of November dates available (which in case you didn’t know, November weddings make the most BEAUTIFUL fall pictures!) but that he needed to ask her ASAP because I, #1 Didn’t want to keep this secret for too long and #2 I didn’t want to lose the date while waiting on him to propose. 😉 It was only 2-3 days later that I saw the news on Facebook. Russell had asked Dallas to marry him! Yippeeee!!! Over the next week Dallas and I talked and planned their engagment session and she nailed down a date for their wedding. They got married at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church, where her father is the pastor. The gym at the church was transformed in to what looked like an upscale wedding venue. The whole thing was beautiful. Everyone was so sweet, so friendly, and so laid back. I am so grateful for Dallas and Russell and their families!
